You have never forgiven Hargrave House for what they did to you. To your family, your friends, the only people in the world you cared for. So you trained, and became adept at the skills that would allow you to join their ranks. And now you will tear it down from the inside. Starting with the current residents, then its unseen benefactors, and finally the Crown itself.

The Imposter is a different type of Mastermind for The Between as they are one of the current hunters of Hargrave House. Someone working a plan in the upmost secrecy to betray their comrades and bring about the end of Hargrave House, to the point of having forged a false identity and history. To that end, games with The Imposter as a Mastermind bring in paranoia as a major theme, especially between player characters. Backstories will be called into question, motives will be brought to light, and the hunters will need to survive multiple attempts on their lives.

Also, this Mastermind is written with the expectation that all players have some familiarity with Carved from Brindlewood systems, primarily its narrative flexibility and its reliance on player and character knowledge separation. The ultimate identity of the Imposter will be determined unanimously by players, however. Any feelings of betrayal will rest in the characters' emotions, not the players'.
