It is well known that the doors of the Monastery are open to anyone who reaches them, regardless of skill, personality or status. However, the Monastery is so well concealed that it is impossible to stumble upon it, and it is said that the only way to discover it is through a divine vision or the guidance of a Monk.
Within the Monastery's walls lie records which human memory has long forgotten, as well as the sacred method of connecting with the Divine. Some are called there to maintain the garden, to study, to teach, to record, whereas others are summoned for a more dangerous purpose.
They are trained so that they may one day leave and return to the common world. There, they are expected to tread carefully on the edge between the Divine and the mundane in order to intervene when the actions of the unenlightened threaten the balance.
The Game
Third instalment in my Lonely Class series, Monk is yet another solo TTRPG which can be played with or without a journaling component. The game only requires the use of two six-sided dice, and is based on the mechanics used by Tiago Junges in his excellent game Ronin. In addition, the game features an Oracle system based on Cezar Capacle's design You Sure?
Create your Monk and their Faith before setting out, encountering all manner of people and situations. Will you interfere or let events follow their course? Will you be able to find the source of the disruption which called you away from your Monastery and put an end to it?
