You awake on a cryogenic pod
inside a metallic vessel.
Wires, cogs, and screens surround you.
All machinery here is dead.
Everything you see you don’t recognize.
Even the reflection of your own face
on the mirror bolted above your pod.
You don't remember who you are
or why you are here.
Nor do you recognize the faces of any
of those who awoke with you.
Outside, the room is illuminated by
the light coming out of the vessel.
Looking around, you see vast ruins.
Above, an impossible to climb hole,
piercing through floors and floors of an abandoned structure.
You have the certainty that Up is Out.

Up is Out is a co-op solo role playing game of exploration, resource management, map making, journaling, asymmetrical roles, and lore creation, that uses books you already own as sources to spark your imagination.

In the solo phase, players will use their cards to explore the ruins and deal with the life forms they encounter in their journey.

In the co-op phase, two or more players will gather or get in touch through their preferred means of communication to do their job (Archaeologist, Builder, Cartographer, Chemist, Medical bio-engineering, Scribner, Security, Zoologist) and help each other as they can.

Up is Out is played with a pen, a notebook, a die (d6), and a standard deck of 52 cards.
