Last Hope is a tabletop roleplaying game within which you play as teenage or young adult characters trying to fight evil corruption in an alternate version of the world, while also living your daily life as a student.

Through a strange contract, you were given The Gift, transforming you into a Magical girl and giving you special powers.

While Last Hope can be used as an all-age tabletop roleplaying game, it is better to adjust some of the darker sub-themes of the game (we recommend at least 10 and up to include darker sub-themes for younger audience). 

Last Hope is based on Caltrop Core a system using the mighty triangle D4 as its primary dice. We recommend having at least 3 for more convenient dice rolls. The rules can be summarized by the following: Whenever you want to accomplish an action, roll a number of D4s equal to the appropriate stat, keep the highest and compare it to the table! The more 4 you roll, the better you are!

Last Hope is usually divided into 3 different types of play: School, Downtime and Combat, all of which have their own particularities. School and downtime cover your everyday lives and how your character go through their day, and combat covers everything happening in The Beyond.

This is a DEMO version, holding most of the base rules to play and limited character options, although the final mechanics of the game are still under development. The art featured inside is PLACEHOLDER and is not exactly representative of the final aesthetic of the game.

In Last Hope, becoming a Magical Girl is not always pretty. In exchange for your powerful gift, your soul might become corrupted. The more you use The Gift, the more your soul weakens.

Corruption
When a Magical Girl gain too much corruption, they become Shadows or Fallen. They inhabit The Beyond and can become powerful enemies.

Determination
Determination is gained through interacting with your friends and doing activities you enjoy. Determination can be used to cleanse corruption and regain vitality in dire times, helping you continue your journey!

*Note that even though the term Magical Girls is used throughout the book, the character you create can be of any gender you wish them to be.
