Deep below the earth of Iron Country stand the gates to Hell. And yesterday, they were opened.

At least, that's what Grant Sedley's been saying.

Last week, Grant reported seeing a "large demonic beast" in and around the Soothill Mine. No one took him very seriously, but two days later people started disappearing. Yesterday, a body was found: headless, eviscerated, and propped up at the entrance to the mine.

A warning? Or an invitation?

The Showdown

In this scenario for Bump in the Dark, the hunters will delve into the depths of the earth itself and face whatever evil calls such deep darkness home. Can the pact seal the gates before they open irrevocably, unleashing something truly horrible on the people of Iron Country?

New Location: The Soothill Mines

This hunt also comes with a whole new location for the game:

A pair of two separate mines within the Sylvan Wilds between Last Pine and Sawyer Harbor, owned and operated by the Grand-Soothill Mining Concern. The Old Soothill Mine is long abandoned, but recently the Historical Society has petitioned for it to become a historical site — an idea that Grand-Soothill has pledged to fight tooth and nail. The newer Soothill Mine, on the other hand, is the only remaining fully-operational, year-round iron ore mine in the region. While Grand-Soothill operates a few other, lesser mines, these remain its oldest and most important.
