Description

Warning: This game contains 8-bit pixel art representations of blood and gore.

Rusty Flesh is a sci-fi horror puzzle platformer for the Game Boy Color where you switch gravity instead of jumping (guess you could call it a VVVVVV-like!). Explore the different areas of a derelict spaceship putting together all the pieces of its lovecraftian mistery, and enjoy its retro-futuristic aesthetics.

In the near future, Earth has become a wasteland, unfit for any kind of life. Nations fell, and big tech corporations seized power. They had been getting ready for this. They built massive spaceships where a few chosen ones would travel for hundreds of years, looking for a new home. The Grampus was one of those ships... but something went wrong.

Game Boy controls and their PC mappings

  • D-pad (GB): arrow keys / WASD (PC)
  • A (GB): Z / J (PC)
  • B (GB): X / K (PC)
  • Start (GB): Enter / Space (PC)
  • Select (GB): Shift (PC)

Features

  • Explore a derelict spaceship: Something's wrong in this spaceship, and it's up to you to discover what happened. Explore the ship and find clues in a non-linear narrative.
  • Solve gravity-based puzzles: Combine your gravity switch with other mechanics to progress through Rusty Flesh's series of puzzles.
  • Fight undead abominations: The former crew members have been turned into undead monsters, and they are after you.
  • 8-bit retro gaming fun: Get back to the glorious days of 8-bit handheld gaming!

Rusty Flesh actually runs on a Game Boy Color, with all its limitations.
